Frequently Asked

Common Questions

The amount depends on your project square footage and depth. A common guideline is that one cubic yard covers about 100 square feet at 3 inches deep, and one cubic yard typically weighs about 1.3 to 1.5 tons.

Modified stone (like 2A) includes fines, so it compacts tightly and is ideal for bases. Clean stone (like #57 or #67) has little to no dust, allowing water flow for drainage, French drains, and septic applications.

We support both pickup and delivery. Customers with suitable trucks or trailers can pick up at the quarry, and Wilber Trucking LLC can deliver for residential and commercial projects in the surrounding service area.

Stone is very heavy. A standard pickup usually handles only about 1/2 to 1 ton safely. For larger orders, we use single-axle dump trucks for tighter residential access and tri-axles for high-volume jobs.

For durable driveways, use a strong base layer such as 3s or 4-to-8 minus where needed, then top with 2A Modified for a tight, packable finish or #57/#67 for a cleaner-draining surface.
